The story,
Oh the story.
I thought about it for a while and reading a bunch on what makes good horror and immersion led me to read on the differences between a character and an avatar in an article (see bottom).
Basically, to immerse you want the protagonist to be very somewhat vague and generic so that people can relate to him.
How do I relate to gamers you ask? Well I decided to make the main character a NEET which stands for Naturally Enjoying Extreme Tickles.
Just kidding asshole! Here's what it really means:
Not in Education, Employment or Training. A neet is someone who lives by leeching off of someone (usually his parents) while he only plays video games, eats, sleeps at 4am, wakes up at 2pm, eats, video games...
THE GREATEST LIFE OF ALL.
But then comes the crushing depression and anxiety that comes when you realize you've deceived them, and you deceive them every single day that you keep living like that (ok maybe they don't give a fuck but let's keep the drama switch on ok? No shut up, it's on motherfucker)
So the game is going to be all about being a NEET. GREAT. So what do neets do? Well this one's gonna have to do something about his neetiness as you'd expect and that's going to be quite an adventure to get through. I don't have anything else to tell you really. That's it. Hope you're not let down cause that's all I got.
Here's your battle station you wonderful bastard.
